Spirit Airlines begins Las Vegas-Chicago service

Spirit Airlines today began a new non-stop service between Las Vegas and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

The Florida-based airline also announced new routes that will connect Las Vegas to Atlantic City and Dallas/Fort Worth in May.

Spirit already flies from Las Vegas to Detroit, Fort Myers, Fla., and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the airline’s hub.

The new route to Chicago is offered daily, with Flight 124 leaving Chicago at 9:55 p.m. and arriving at McCarran International Airport at 11:55 p.m. Flight 121 then leaves Las Vegas at 12:50 a.m. and arrives in Chicago at 6:20 a.m.

The new service competes with United and American, which offer flights on the same route.

The airline is offering fares for the new flights as low as $49 each way to members of the $9 Fare Club for a limited number of days in January. The flights must be purchased today or Friday.

Spirit’s new service to Atlantic City begins May 5. The route will make one stop, but will offer same-aircraft service between Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

The new service to Dallas/Fort Worth, which also begins May 5, will be nonstop.
