Las Vegas man killed in one-car accident

Accident site

Metro Police said a 76-year-old Las Vegas man was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident north of Alcoa Avenue.

Authorities said it appears that about 6:11 a.m., the Chevrolet Malibu was leaving the Palace Station Hotel and Casino when the driver failed to stop before crossing an intersection and entering Teddy Drive.

The car struck a traffic pole and an apartment building after leaving the roadway, police said. The man, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Metro Police are investigating the accident, but officials said the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the accident.
