Charles Alleman

Charles Alleman, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Halifax, Pa. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired truck driver and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, John Alleman and Paul Alleman, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Amarante F. Baca

Amarante F. Baca, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born May 26, 1913, in Blanco, N.M. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired laborer and a member of the Elks in Henderson.

He is survived by two sons, Christopher Baca and Harold Baca, both of Las Vegas; one stepson, William Jeantet of Yreka, Calif.; two sisters, Sadie Rivas of Seattle and Cordie Martinez of Price, Utah; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Real 'Ray' Blais

Real "Ray" Blais, 57, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born May 10, 1945, in Quebec. A resident for five years, he was a journeyman lineman and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha; two daughters, Gabrielle Burris of Las Vegas and Brigitte Sand of Phoenix; one sister, Nicole Blais; and one brother, Yvon Blais, both of Quebec.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 6 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Delores M. Chapman

Delores M. Chapman, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Watertown, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired change girl.

She is survived by her husband, James; five sons, Thomas of Florida, Jim of Kansas and Danny, Kenny and Bob, all of Las Vegas; one daughter, Lori Chapman of California; two sisters, Marie and Carol, both of Watertown; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Herbert M. Doughtery

Herbert M. Doughtery, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 28, 1919, in St. Louis. A resident for several years, he was a retired Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Doughtery and Donald Doughtery; two daughters, Onita Doughtery and Athena Kochi; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Ludie M. Gates

Ludie M. Gates, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 25, 1924, in Las Vegas. A resident for 42 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by three sons, Judge Lee A. Gates, James Edwards Gates and Ramon McFarland-Gates, and one daughter, Kathryn Gates, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Wednesday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 N. F St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Jamni T. Gidwani

Jamni T. Gidwani, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 22, 1919, in Karachi, Pakistan. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Vimla Lendway of Las Vegas and Daya Shahani and Lalta Jain, both of Bombay, India; one son, Vinod Gidwani of Glenview, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

Lenore Hickman

Lenore Hickman, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Las Vegas. A resident for 70 years, she was a homemaker, a member of a senior citizen craft group and the Professional Business Women's Association.

She is survived by one son, Ron Hickman of Las Vegas; one sister, Virginia Richardson of Henderson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be one hour prior to an 11 a.m. services Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Robert Clifford Howard

Robert Clifford Howard, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 2, 1923, in Pompey's Pillar, Mont. A resident for one year, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and World War II and Korean War veteran, worked for Defense Mapping Agency of the Aeronautical Chart and Information Center in St. Louis and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Retired Officers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Dorothy; three daughters, Nancy Jones of Tustin, Calif., Donna Frazier of Las Vegas and Mary Clifford Negron of Chicago; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to an 11:30 a.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Virginia Waters Kirgis

Virginia Waters Kirgis, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Perry, Iowa. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired data processing clerk for a manufacturer and a member of Daughters of the Nile.

She is survived by one son, Gary Waters of Las Vegas; and one sister, Beverly Halling of Perry, Iowa.

Services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Jeannette M. McAlearney

Jeannette M. McAlearney, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Pocahontas, Iowa. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John D. McAlearney Jr. of Redlands, Calif.; two daughters, Charlotte Iorio and Sharon McAlearney, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Joseph J. Minesal

Joseph J. Minesal, 88, of Henderson died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born May 30, 1914, in Milwaukee. A resident for six years, he was a retired firefighter for the city of Milwaukee.

He is survived by his wife, Jane F.; three sons, Tom Minesal of Grafton, Wis., Jim Minesal of Big Bend, Wis., and Mark Minesal of Henderson; and four grandchildren.

Joseph Edward O'Brien

Joseph Edward O'Brien, 75, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born April 27, 1927, in New York City. A resident for five years, he was a retired firefighter and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, the Rev. Joseph I. O'Brien of Las Vegas; and one sister, Rosemary Loeser of Amsterdam, N.Y.

Richard Rapp

Richard Rapp, 76, of Pahrump died Nov. 26 in Pahrump. He was born Sept. 11, 1926, in New York. A resident for two years, he was a pit boss at the Frontier hotel.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three sons, Richard Cansdale of California and David Cansdale and William Robert Cansdale, both of New York; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Mike Casanova of Las Vegas; three daughters, Caridad Nadales of Cuba, Grisell Machin of Florida and Rosa Ramirez of Las Vegas; one brother, Guillermo Raxach of Cuba; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Arthur Romero, 39, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 30, 1963, in San Gabriel, Calif. A resident for 18 years, he was a mail handler and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Monic Romero and Falicia Romera, his parents, Martin and Rose Mary Romero, and two brothers, Jose Romero and Martin Romero Jr., all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Rosie Rios of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Irene Romero and Carmen Romero, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Patricia Ann Ross, 56, of Las Vegas died Nov. 22 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 31, 1945, in South Bend, Ind. A resident for 23 years, she was a nurse and monitor technician at Desert Springs Hospital for 22 years.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Ross and Tim Ross, her mother, Dorothy Crobarger, and one brother, Frank Ulbright, all of Las Vegas.

John Allyn Rusk, 37, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. An employee of Siegal Lighting for five years and a Navy veteran, he was born Jan. 24, 1965, in Pawtucket, R.I.

He is survived by his mother, Carole Corrigan Boucher of Las Vegas; his father, John A. Rusk; two brothers, Robert P. Rusk of Providence, R.I., and Thomas R. Rusk Jr. of Pawtucket, R.I.; and his grandmother, Theresa R. Corrigan of Stewart, Fla.

Carmine R. Sandomenico, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1938, in New York City. A resident for 23 years, he was director of security at the Imperial Palace and a retired detective with New York City Police.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; one daughter, Dina Sandomenico-Mattson, his mother, Mildred Sandomenico, and one sister, Hope McKenna, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Frank Sandomenico of Sparks; and four grandchildren.

Edward "Big Ed" Schwartz, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 6, 1924, in New York City. A resident for seven years, he was a retired real estate broker, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, past president of the men's club at Adat Shalom Synagogue in West Los Angeles, the Lions Club in Culver City, Calif., and United Multiple Listing Services and was a member of the Elks and Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; one son, Steven Schwartz of Los Angeles; one brother, Milton Schwartz of Bel Air, Calif.; and one sister, Goldie Heller of Irvine, Calif.

Ruth Prince Winn, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 6, 1920, in New Harmony, Utah. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Relief Society of the LDS Church, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Las Vegas Ladies Literary Club.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Ted Winn.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Verne; three sons, Donald Winn of Las Vegas, Evan Winn of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and George Winn of Baker, Ore.; one daughter, Verna Hayes of Las Vegas; one brother, James McKay Prince of Tucson; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Leonard J. Yudis

Leonard J. Yudis, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Chicago. A resident for five years, he was a retired printer, employed at Desert Toyota for two years and was a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; three sons, Paul Ewing of LaPorte, Ind., Norman Ewing of Seattle and Dean Ewing of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; one sister, Jean Nelson of Huachuca, Ariz.; one brother, Robert Yudis of Lansing, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
