Scott Alan Adams

Scott Alan Adams, 41, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 8, 1959, in California. A resident for five years, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his lifetime partner, Jaye Lynn Hocson, one son, Jason Hocson, and two daughters, Jovi Adams and Shirna Adams, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Alice Adams, and one brother, David Adams, both of Hawaii; and three sisters, Toni Dicky of California, Terri Mabie of Chicago and Barbara Doyle of Colorado.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Joan C. Anderson

Joan C. Anderson, 70, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired teacher's aide.

She is survived by two sons, Jay Anderson of Dolton, Ill., and Erroll Anderson of Los Angeles; one daughter, Diana Anderson of Matteson, Ill.; two sisters, Jacqueline Dorsey and Helen Crawford, both of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Derald Andrews

Derald Andrews, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Whitehall, Ill. A resident for 13 years, he was an insurance adjuster and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline L.; two sons, Derald L. Andrews of Ontario, Calif., and Scott R. Andrews of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Bessie L. Blackstone

Bessie L. Blackstone, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Shirley Horton of Henderson and Mada Eddins of Las Vegas; one sister, Margaret Thomas of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Elsie Mae Holm Churchfield

Elsie Mae Holm Churchfield, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 21, 1910, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 59 years, she retired at age 86 as a Tupperware manager and dealer after 25 years in Las Vegas, worked with Catholic Community Services in the nutrition program including Meals on Wheels, active in the Senior Olympics competition, was a member of the Eagles and Women's Better Business Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Borgna of Las Vegas and Ann C. Jayo of Ruby Valley; one daughter-in-law, Suzanne Churchfield of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow at noon Friday in Palm Memorial Park.

Kenneth Diekmann

Kenneth Diekmann, 62, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Fairmont, Minn. A resident for more than 30 years, he was an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Christy Diekmann and Le Ann Diekmann, and one son, Jason Diekmann, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Marie Mathiason, two brothers, Donald Diekmann and Eugene Diekmann, and one sister, Ruth Emery, all of Fairmont.

Services will be noon Friday in the Las Vegas Moose Lodge, 1600 Gragson Ave. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Inger A. Finsie

Inger A. Finsie, 55, of Las Vegas died April 30 in Las Vegas. She was born March 14, 1946, in Sweden. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; her mother, Maj, and two brothers, Rune and Lars, all of Sweden.

Evelyn Gilman

Evelyn Gilman, 75, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for three years, she was born May 16, 1925, in Mapleton, Iowa.

She is survived by three daughters, Colleen Gilman-Willoughby and Linda Hunt, both of Henderson, and Judy Gilman of Las Vegas; two sisters, Irene Baker of Phoenix and Marge Hanson of Decatur, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. service in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Tucson, Ariz.

Vernon Glines

Vernon Glines, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Hibbing, Minn. A resident for one year, he was a retired estimator in the aerospace industry.

He is survived by three sons, Terry Glines of Sacramento, Ron Watkins of Newbury Park, Calif., and Jerry Glines of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bonnie Jean Henry

Bonnie Jean Henry, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker and secretary-treasurer of an Illinois manufacturing company.

She is survived by her husband, Russell A.; two sons, James Henry of Davenport, Iowa, and Mark Henry of Moline, Ill.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

LaVelle Myers Johnston

LaVelle Myers Johnston, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 22, 1911, in West Grove, Iowa. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired waitress, the first waitress at Binion's Horseshoe, holder of Culinary Union card 7 and a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Roderick D. Myers of Las Vegas; three stepdaughters, Ann Ramie and Eloise Johnston, both of Tulare, Calif., and Joyce Smith of San Dimas, Calif.; one sister, Lorene Sheumaker of Centerville, Iowa; six grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be in Iowa.

Vera Mae Kramer, 59, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 14, 1941, in Corning, Ark. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie J.; one daughter, Adonna Dawn Reynolds of Henderson; four sons, John B. Rollinson and Floyd H. Rollinson, both of Henderson, Brian S. Rollinson of Hollister, Calif., and Lonnie Troy Kramer of Seattle; one sister, Frances Temple of Springfield, Mo.; three brothers, George Thaxton and Donald Foelsch, both of Henderson, and Floyd Foelsch of Olympia, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

John Joseph McManus, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 28, 1931, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a retired attorney and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; one son, John M. McManus of Las Vegas; and one brother, Edgar McManus of New York City.

Martin Mendlovic, 77, of Las Vegas and Van Nuys, Calif., died Monday in Los Angeles. He was born June 16, 1923, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for eight years, he was a retired taxicab owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; two daughters, Penny Mendlovic of Las Vegas and Sherry Ewing of La Crescenta, Calif.; one son, Haim Bareli, and one sister, Clara Mendlovic, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Joseph William "Bill" Mogford, 72, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Nov. 25, 1928, in College Station, Texas. A resident for six years, he was a retired feed company salesman, a member of the Striper Club of Lake Mead, Vegas Rollers Winnebago Club and a Texas A&M graduate.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four daughters, Penny Crist of Fort Worth, Texas, Linda C. Bodiford and Sharon Mueller, both of Henderson, and Tessa Salter of College Station; one son, Ronald A. Johnson of Sugarland, Texas; and 12 grandchildren.

William Eugene Parker, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 3, 1937, in Lowville, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, he was an aircraft electrician, was retired from the Air Force Force and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Parker of Las Vegas.

Anthony Francis Patricelli, 82, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired tool and dye maker for a manufacturing firm and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9102.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; one son, Richard A. Patricelli of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Inburgia, Natalie Julian and Connie Capellupo, and two brothers, Frank Patricelli and Rocco Patricelli, all of Rochester.

Velma Scaramosino, 102, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1899, in Platania, Italy. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of the choir at St. Anne Catholic Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Yolanda Provinziano, and one son, Victor Scaramosino, both of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Kevin Shenk of Las Vegas; two daughters, Danielle Souder and Chris Tahila, both of Maryland; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Muriel Thompson, 69, of Fayetteville, N.C., died Saturday in Fayetteville. She was a former Las Vegas resident.

Steve Toth, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Hopelawn, N.J. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired dockhand and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
