Federal Hearing Focuses on Vegas

The U.S. House Education and Labor Committee took aim at OSHA on Tuesday, citing the recent fatalities at construction sites on the Las Vegas Strip. After hearing testimony from OSHA's Assistant Secretary of Labor, Edwin Foulke and Las Vegas resident George Cole, among others, the committee took OSHA policy to task and was joined by Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley who also expressed concerns.

  1. All of what was said in the video sounds just like most political reponses to someone dying on the job that has been said for years about OSHA, there job is to protect workers on the job, not ignore safety violations of the very rich owners of construction sites. The fines are of insignificnat amounts that it makes them look like they are in the pockets of the construction companies. I hope someone from OSHA reads this.
