As Robin Leach arrives for his annual summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy — he also visited Lake Como and Lake Maggiore this year — many of our Strip personalities have again stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. We continue today with the sexy and stunning Tracey Gittins from the sizzling topless show “Fantasy” at the Luxor.
I have lived in Las Vegas for more than eight years and have worked and played up and down the Strip as a dancer in “Fantasy” and as an instructor in Las Vegas’ hottest burlesque and pole-dancing class Night School 4 Girls.
One thing I have learned from my time here is that there’s nothing like summertime in Las Vegas, and it’s in full swing! We are best known for our rising temps, wild poolside parties, hot summer nights and scantily clad sun worshippers who travel from all around the world to experience the unique energy that is our home.
This is the sexiest time of the year in Sin City, and here are some of my favorite tips for keeping your cool and looking hot all season long.
Hydration is key: Whether you’re drinking poolside or enjoying the great outdoors, the summer sun in Las Vegas is no joke. Water is your best friend in the desert, so drink up.
Day drink in style: Las Vegas created the nightlife game, and over the last few years we have reinvented everything with the introduction of dayclubs. Bottle service and nearly naked men and women — what more could you ask for?
Check out some of my favorite spots: Bare at the Mirage and Wet Republic at MGM Grand. Tip: Pace yourself when out in the hot Las Vegas sun and consuming those delicious adult beverages. Not everyone can handle that combination, and sloppy drunk is not a good look.
Hot summer playlist: Music keeps summertime moving, and no matter if you’re hitting the gym to keep that bikini body in shape or getting ready for a night out on the town, having a go-to playlist will surely get the blood pumping and the party started. My pick for song of the summer: “Happy” by Pharrell.
Get out of town: There is always something going on in Las Vegas, but just in case you want to escape the summer heat for a few days, check out San Diego’s Historic Gaslamp District or grab the girls for a weekend of wine tasting in Temecula. There are a ton of quick getaways just a few hours out of town.
Rock your body: Summer means less clothes and more skin. The biggest thing I can stress and what we want all our ladies to learn at Night School 4 Girls is that confidence is the best accessory a woman can wear. Unleash your inner bombshell — and rock those daisy dukes.
Be a golden goddess: Everyone feels sexier and more confident with a touch of color. Be sure to book a spray tan appointment before your next big pool day, and you’ll see how much a little color will help to put some extra swagger in your strut. If spray tanning isn’t your thing, there are a ton of great lotions you can use at home, too.
Polish from head to toe: The devil is in the details, so don’t forget to get a fab mani/pedi. You will be exclusively wearing flip flops, strappy sandals and sexy wedges for the next few months, so make sure you glam up those nails.
Broaden your horizons: Summer is the perfect time to take up a new hobby, sign up for an interesting class (cough, cough, Night School 4 Girls) or pick up a good beach read. Make sure to put these extra hours of summer daylight to good use.
Cheers to a safe and sexy summer!
Check out our other guest column today from “Chicken Soup for the Soul’s” Amy Newmark and Sean E. Cooper, who describes himself as the luckiest man in Las Vegas starring nightly as the comedian and impressionist at “Fantasy” alongside those gorgeous topless dancers! On Wednesday, meet up with singer Pia Zadora and Food Network star chef Ben Vaughn and go behind-the-scenes of star chef Kerry Simon’s new downtown restaurant Carson Kitchen.
