As Robin Leach settles into a northern Italian lake district lifestyle before his traditional summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy — plus Lake Como and Lake Maggiore this year — many of our Strip personalities have again stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. We continue today with “Sydney After Dark” at Planet Hollywood producer Belinda Chapple.

Greetings from Down Under, where we put the finishing touches on packing and gearing up for the almost 16-hour flight across the pond to fabulous Las Vegas!

It has been several years and hours upon hours in the making, but we’re finally ready to bring “Sydney After Dark” to U.S. shores and the Entertainment Capital of the World. Bye-bye to our kangaroos and vegemite.

We are looking forward to the glitz and glamour and to making a name for ourselves in the neon lights of Sin City.

A little bit of background on me. I’ve been in the entertainment industry since I was 13 years old. I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world and accomplish many milestones as a model and singer, most notably as a member of the all-girl pop-sensation Bardot.

Six hit singles, worldwide tours, a double-platinum debut album and a gold follow-up album, Bardot became one of Australia’s most-accomplished girl groups of all time.

Many times in the world of entertainment, being the talent teaches you a lot about how to be the director or any number of other jobs that are less seen but make such a tremendous impact on the successful outcome of the final product and the happiness of the cast.

Over the past five years, I’ve begun to expand my creative horizons, trying my hand at directing and producing events in television and live entertainment around the world, including creative director and even costume designer of “Sydney After Dark.”

There’s nothing like live entertainment. It’s in my blood, and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

So what exactly is “Sydney After Dark”? You’ll have to come to Planet Hollywood to find out for yourself, but I can tell you that it will make you fantasize about the land Down Under!

Provocative and sensual, “Sydney After Dark” will be a celebration and reinvention of the art of topless burlesque with some of the sexiest women Australia has to offer. We have beautifully constructed costumes, choreography from the extraordinarily talented Ame Delves and Wil Sabin and not to mention the sensational singing of Natalie Conway.

Australia has a wealth of talent, and we’re thrilled, honored and ecstatic to not only follow in the footsteps of but also continue the tradition of talented Aussie performers on the Strip, including Thunder From Down Under and Human Nature.

There’s no better location in the world for a topless revue than the Strip, and we can’t wait to show Las Vegas audiences what we have in store for them. We are ready to become part of the Las Vegas community and bring some flavor to the performing productions here.

So come on down to Planet Hollywood and check out Las Vegas’ sexiest, most glamorous and seductive new show: “Sydney After Dark.” We’re performing six days per week — dark Wednesdays — and can’t wait to see you there!

Check out our other guest column today from comedy king George Wallace and on Thursday get ready for Bally’s headliner Veronic DiCaire, Celine Dion’s singing-sensation discovery and her 50 voice impressions, plus hair guru to the stars Michael Boychuck.
