As Britney Spears returns to Las Vegas on Tuesday, mystery surrounds the narrow gold wedding band that popped up around her fourth left-hand finger over the weekend. The pop princess deliberately flashed it to photographers, sending paparazzi and tabloid reporters into a worldwide frenzy.
Britney resumes her residency show “Piece of Me” at the Axis in Planet Hollywood on Wednesday through Super Bowl weekend and until Feb. 22. She returns April 25-May 17 and again Aug. 16-Sept. 6.
It will be 15 years Thursday when Britney’s debut single, “… Baby One More Time,” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts just two months after her 17th birthday.
Considering that the 32-year-old singer was married briefly to former high school sweetheart Jason Alexander for just 55 hours here in Las Vegas at the Little White Wedding Chapel in early 2004 before it was annulled — and then her three-year marriage to Kevin Federline that ended in 2007 — this would be third-time luck for the pop superstar and in keeping with her “… Baby One More Time” and “Oops!...I Did It Again” hits.
Britney has been dating boyfriend David Lucado now for the past nine months after meeting him at a party arranged by friends. She has said they are in love and that she finds him funny, sexy and passionate.
Britney turned up at a football game for her two sons Sean, 8, and Jayden, 7, over the weekend in L.A. People there said she was “deliberately pointed about showing the photographers the prominent wedding band as if she was determined to tell the world something.”
Was it a surprise runaway Las Vegas wedding? I seriously doubt that, and a check of wedding chapels on the Strip and downtown revealed not.
Is it an unofficial engagement? That’s a strong possibility, but I checked in with her management and media teams, and for now they’re as silent and baffled by the mystery as we are.
We’ll check back with Britney’s camp when cast and crew descend on Planet Hollywood on Tuesday for the new run of shows. Also Tuesday right here at Vegas DeLuxe, we’ll preview “Piece of Me” changes and report the stunning ticket sales for the second leg of her concert contract.

Catering to the young and modern crowd, Planet Hollywood is a one-stop shop for entertainment with its massive shopping mall, slew of restaurants, spacious casino and clubs.
The ambiance of the casino is retro-chic meets high-tech with black granite floors throughout and colorful LED lights throughout the space. The theme carries into the 100,000 square-foot casino with 250 flat screens topping off slot machines. The casino is also home to 87 tables, a sports book and a poker room.
There's also the Miracle Mile Shops, one Vegas' largest malls, with 140 stores including BCBG Max Azaria, bebe, Urban Outfitters and The Discovery Channel Store.
Following an afternoon of shopping, guests can satisfy their appetites at one of the gourmet restaurants in Planet Hollywood, like the non-traditional approach to steakhouses at Strip House or check out the exotic Far East motif at KOI restaurant and lounge. And if guests are still looking for more, they can spend the after hours at Privé, Triq or Krave nightclubs.
Perhaps one of the resorts biggest attractions came in March with the addition of "Peepshow." The naughty twist on the story of Little Bo Peep is modern-day spin on the run-of-the-mill Vegas topless review. The "Peepshow" stage has seen visiting celebs like Scary Spice Mel B, "Dancing with the Stars" Kelly Monaco and Playboy's Holly Madison.
