Our hometown Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil was a surprise guest who performed with country singer Justin Moore at Friday night’s Second Annual ACM Party for a Cause Festival in the shadows of the High Roller observation wheel and the Linq.
Justin performed the Motley Crue hit “Home Sweet Home” as a duet with Vince on Night 1 of the two-day outdoor country music festival to raise funds for Outnumber Hunger. To date, Outnumber Hunger has helped secure more than 25 million meals for Feeding America’s network of local food banks.
Among the stars performing during the day and into the night were headliners Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line and Justin. Other acts included Thomas Rhett, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradberry, Will Hope, Charlie Worsham, The Cadillac Three and handsome Chase Rice, who was mobbed by hundreds of fans all pawing and clawing him as if he’s country’s next big heartthrob.
Tonight is Night 2 with headliner Keith Urban and other stars including Joe Nichols, Brett Eldredge, Jerrod Neimann, Parmalee, The Swon Brothers, Chris Young and the U.S. Air Force band Max Impact. The concerts run from early afternoon to midnight — and then there’s a two-hour after-hours jam led by Jerrod and his friends until 2 a.m.
It all leads up to Sunday’s 2014 ACM Awards from MGM Grand Garden Arena hosted for the second consecutive year by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan and the Fan Jam at Mandalay Bay Events Center hosted by FGL. Vince tells me that he will be on the red carpet for the awards with his girlfriend, Las Vegas makeup artist Rain Hannah.
Check back to Vegas DeLuxe on Sunday for our rehearsal photo coverage and tonight’s Keith Urban concert, plus our preview of the awards as the red carpet gets underway.
