For the third year, Ryan Seacrest hosts the iHeartRadio Music Festival, which has grown so big with the invasion of the world’s top pop stars that it’s in two locations over two days this year.
Additionally, fans can follow a webcast or listen to their favorite Clear Channel radio station. Then in one week (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), there is two nights of two-hour specials of all the stars on the CW to launch the new fall TV season.
It’s a giant undertaking and the ultimate celebration of music, artists and fans with more than 25 of the greatest stars of rock, pop and country. Tonight’s lineup at MGM Grand Garden Arena includes Sir Elton John, Katy Perry, Queen with Adam Lambert, Keith Urban, Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Chris Brown and rising stars The Summer Set.
Before performing, Caesars Palace headliner Elton will spend an hour at Facebook.com/EltonJohn answering questions about his new album “Diving Board.”
On Saturday, performers include Justin Timberlake, Sir Paul McCartney, Drake, Tim McGraw, Bruno Mars, Ke$ha, Zedd and Maroon 5.
Over at the new 15-acre Village opposite Luxor, Miley Cyrus, Jason Derulo, The Wanted, The Band Perry, Avril Lavigne, Cher Lloyd, Ne-Yo, Awolnation and DJ Obscene are some of the Saturday acts.
Presenters include Khloe Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, Kevin Hart, Kate Hudson and Britney Spears, whose show tickets for the Dec. 27 premiere of her Planet Hollywood residency “Piece of Me” through February go on sale today. Don’t be surprised if you run into stars including Mario Lopez, Jackson Rathbone (“Twilight”) and Jessica and Jep Robertson of “Duck Dynasty.”
This is the weekend that boxing legend and Las Vegas resident Mike Tyson debuts his new six-part series “Being Mike Tyson” on Fox Sports. It’s features candid confessions, racy revelations and how he faces the demons that sent him from the top of the world to an epic fall from grace with an eroded career and his amazing turnabout from being broke, disgraced and addicted to drugs and alcohol.
Being Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson and Lance Armstrong
Here’s the episode of when he confronted disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong. It’s must-watch TV, and, although Mike recently revealed that he’s still a bad guy sometimes who’s tried to kill himself, he’s here attending AA meetings — and we’re rooting for him.
You can make your last splash of summer before the dayclub parties by night dwindle down to a precious few. Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay ends its debut season of Eclipse with Krewella until 3 a.m. Sunday.
As late-night pool partying ends, the new fall season of Project Dinner Table kicks off for 200 guests at one long dining table at Pit Lane on the infield of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bellagio star chefs Royden Ellamar and Edmund Wong serve Saturday’s one-night-only menu from local farm Blue Lizard. It’s the 23rd dinner since the inception of the concept, which distributes proceeds to local charities — this one is for Ronald McDonald House.
