Randy Couture puts Criss Angel in a choke hold on Angel’s Spike TV series “Believe.”

To prepare for the filming of tonight’s Spike TV episode of Luxor headliner-magician Criss Angel’s double-straight-jacket stunt in New York’s Times Square, Criss brought in mixed-martial arts legend Randy Couture to strengthen his stamina.

A noose that could kill him if he blacked out or failed to extricate himself from the two straightjackets to release the metal weights holding the hangman’s rope hangs Criss. Randy gave Criss “choking” lessons that fighters undergo to prevent the blackouts.

However, this still became the stunt that tore the headliner’s shoulder muscles, which will require surgery in early January and force him to temporarily close his Cirque du Soleil show “Believe” at Luxor until April.

Criss will take all of January for rehab, but will host a new show with other performing magicians in February and March.
