Hip-hop legend Rev Run, birth name Joseph Simmons, celebrated his 48th birthday early by spinning at Ling Ling Club on Saturday night at Hakkasan Las Vegas in MGM Grand Las Vegas alongside DJ Ruckus.
Arriving after midnight, the pair made their way to a VIP table on the third level of the mega-nightclub. Nearing 1 a.m., Ruckus hopped in the DJ booth and began his set, later welcoming Rev Run of Run-DMC fame into the DJ booth and wishing him a “Happy Birthday.”
The duo had clubgoers on their feet as they played hits from the 1990s and today. Later in the evening, a dozen cocktail waitresses appeared in the DJ booth and presented Rev Run with a birthday cake. As confetti burst into the air, Rev Run stepped back to admire his four-tier cake adorned with a replica of his iconic hat, clerical collar and gold chain.
It was a family affair inside Ling Ling Club as Rev Run’s daughters Vanessa and Angela Simmons and his son Joseph “Jo Jo” Simmons celebrating alongside their legendary father.
Rev Run turns 48 on Thursday. Thanks to Brenton Ho of Powers Imagery for his photo gallery.
