Sapphire Pool and Day Club grand opening
Outdoor frolicking and fun in the sun were added to an adult-entertainment playground as Sapphire Pool & Day Club celebrated its grand opening with a — what else? — star-studded, three-day affair Friday through Sunday in Sin City.
The partay kicked off Friday with Playboy Playmate DJs Amie Rose and Colleen Shannon; models Amber Smith, Brande Roderick (who competed on this season’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice” on NBC) and Angelica Bridges (a former headliner in “Fantasy” at the Luxor); and MTV star Simon Rex, who performed three songs on the Sapphire stage. (Remember his solo video from years back? Hey, he has nothing to be ashamed of — just sayin’.)
SPDC also had its finals in its search for a resident DJ, with DJ TrueLove, DJ Zhaldee and DJ Presto One each doing 1-hour sets, with the $100,000 contract going to TrueLove. How’s that for true love?
On Saturday afternoon, the packed crowd, listening to the sounds of the returning Rose and Shannon, included second-day partygoers Smith, Roderick and Bridges, plus, newcomers Adrian Grenier (“Entourage”), Pamela Anderson (forever “Baywatch”), Coco Austin (“Peepshow”), Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley (“The Real Housewives of Orange County”), Crystal Hefner, wife of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and cast members of “Rock of Ages” at The Venetian.
Seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry stopped by SPDC before hosting the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Robert Guerrero Showtime PPV-ing in Sapphire Showroom. Sapphire models also were on hand for the daytime revelry.
The three-day party weekend wrapped on Cinco de Mayo with some really adult fun with NBA legend Dennis Rodman (also on “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice” this season); DJs Vic Latino and George Acosta; Wicked Pictures starlets Kaylani Lei, Jessica Drake and Stormy Daniels; and Penny Pibbets and The Gazillionaire of “Absinthe” at Caesars Palace.
