It was a jam-packed Saturday night of music at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, and contributing photographer Erik Kabik of Retna was on duty for three photo galleries.
In a historic double-header at the Joint, The Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers took center stage. Nearby at Vinyl, Rival Sons rocked the intimate music venue.
The Joint goes out with a bang with hometown heroes Imagine Dragons with guests The Mowgli’s and Las Vegas’ Parade of Lights on Monday night and Juicy J with guests DJ Orator and more on New Year’s Eve.
The Joint starts out the New Year strong with Linkin Park on Jan. 10 and The Zac Brown Band on Jan. 11 and 12. (Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington was at the Joint on Dec. 15 with Stone Temple Pilots; Bennington also is the lead singer of STP).
And Vinyl’s lineup through year’s end: Jim Norton and High Voltage AC/DC Production Show tonight, Metalachi Mondays on Monday and Empire Records’ “All ’90s Experience” for New Year’s Eve.

Vinyl, which opened in August 2012, is the intimate live entertainment venue at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, featuring a diversity of genres, including rock 'n' roll, jazz, blues, pop and even country.
The multifunctional room provides an intimate setting that puts the audience within an arm's reach of the performers.
The space, which is just under 7,000 square feet, can accommodate 650 guests. With a speakeasy atmosphere, Vinyl has an industrial look from its Chicago-common brick and cinderblock, distressed wood floors and an exposed, sky-high ceiling.
An elevated VIP section houses leather banquette seating and offers guests their own wait staff and an exclusive bar. The perimeter features a bar where guests can watch all the action. A state-of-the-art entertainment system offers high-definition screens on both sides of the main stage.
