Vince Neil performs at Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas on Saturday, May 26, 2012.

From opera to racing to rodeos to hair metal, there’s truly a little something for everyone in one of Las Vegas’ most entertainment-packed weekends of the year.

Here’s a look at our weekend best bets:

    • Tonight: Vince Neil’s Rock Star Academy Concert at Orleans Arena

Headbang for a cause this weekend with a star-studded evening of hair metal at Orleans Arena benefiting Brennan Rock and Roll Academy. The likes of Kiss, Alice Cooper, Dee Snider, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt and, of course, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil will take the stage with ’80s cover band Hairball for an evening of nonstop hits to support the music education wing of the Boys & Girls Club. A VIP dinner and live auction will precede the concert, which begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 for reserved seating to $50,000 for a front-row VIP package.

    • Tonight - Dec. 14: 2013 National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center

Strap on your boots and hold on tight: The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is back in town, bringing with it 10 days of entertainment and action-packed competition. From Fan Fest to Cowboy Christmas to concerts, there are events to please the whole family in what’s geared to be NFR’s biggest year yet. For events, schedules and more information, visit the Wrangler NFR website.

    • Tonight - Friday: 2013 NASCAR Champion’s Week

NASCAR’s top drivers and fastest cars gather in Las Vegas for a fifth year this week to crown 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, his record sixth win. The entertainment-filled week for fans and champs alike includes an “After the Lap” interactive Q+A at Pearl at the Palms tonight and culminates Friday night in the Cup Series Awards at the Wynn. For schedules and more information, visit the NASCAR Champion’s Week website.

    • Andrea Bocelli performs at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 10, 2011.

Saturday: Andrea Bocelli at MGM Grand Garden Arena

Tenor Andrea Bocelli brings his genre-spanning pop-opera repertoire to MGM Grand Garden Arena for a one-night-only performance celebrating the recent release of his live album/DVD “Love in Portofino.” Conductor Eugene Kohn, soprano Svetla Vassileva and guest vocalist Heather Headley will join Bocelli. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. (show at 8 p.m.), and tickets are $78 to $403.

    • Beyoncé's back at MGM Grand for the second time this year, on December 6.

Friday: Beyonce at MGM Grand Garden Arena

The reign of Queen B continues this weekend, bringing more pyrotechnics and costume changes than you can shake a stick at for Round Two of her “Mrs. Carter Show” world tour. Her stop in June at MGM Grand Garden Arena kept the crowd’s head on a swivel as she tore through more than two dozen hits while performing feats including, but not limited to, jumping off a grand piano onto a zipline and soaring across the arena. After all, they don’t call her Sasha Fierce for nothin’. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $53 to $253.

    • The Great Santa Run at Town Square on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012.

Saturday: Opportunity Village’s Great Santa Run

Fremont Street Experience transforms into the land of a thousand Santas this Saturday when participants don their sneakers and St. Nick garb for the annual Great Santa Run. The 5k run/one-mile walk will benefit Opportunity Village and features live entertainment, with Caesars Palace headliner Shania Twain as grand marshal. Registration is $25 to $40 and opens at 8 a.m.
