Our former Guy Savoy, Thomas Keller and Jose Andres chef Shirley Chung continues on with the tough challenges that are slowly eliminating her competitors on “Top Chef” NOLA Season 11.
Shirley was named one of the Top Three favorites on last week’s episode of the hit Bravo series being judged by our own Las Vegas star chefs Tom Colicchio and Emeril Lagasse.
The remaining cheftestants had to tackle an entire 300-pound pig, and Shirley selected her cut to make jiaozi dumplings with pork, grilled kidney and pork fat salad that she’d learned cooking with her mother and grandmother in China.
Tonight on Episode 9, she faces the classic restaurant wars challenge and has to create a pop-up restaurant to impress the renowned judges panel, which will include restaurateur David Chang.
Shirley has completed the filming, but the verdict of who winds up in the Top Three and then wins won’t be known for two more weeks. For much-needed R&R, she took off for a short, sun-filled vacation in Cancun, Mexico, before returning today to our suddenly cold city.
