Pop princess Britney Spears will arrive this afternoon on the Strip in one of the most explosive and entertaining sensations ever created as a “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” stunt. An awesome avalanche of fan frenzy and paparazzi posse await the mega-star’s arrival to debut her two-year, 96-show residency at Planet Hollywood.
I can reveal that 30 minutes after she arrives in spectacular fashion, the second set of her show tickets starting April 25 through Labor Day Weekend of Sept. 6 will go on sale to meet the extraordinary demand and prove that Las Vegas is getting younger. The excitement will be so over-the-top that a satellite broadcast will air around the world starting at 11 p.m.
“We’re going to have a party,” said Britney. “We will have that vibe in the theater, and people there will really feel they are with me inside the show. This is the most dancing I’ve ever done, and the show will allow fans to feel closer to me than we’ve ever had possible before.
“There are a lot of different, interesting aspects and a lot of moments where the audience feels like they’re in the show with us, a lot of special effects like that.”
Tied in to her Strip arrival today is the release of her new album “Britney Jean,” her eighth. She will start final rehearsals onstage at Planet Hollywood on Dec. 10 ahead of the Dec. 27 world premiere.
Film cameras from E! Entertainment will film one of the world’s most recognized entertainers around the clock now for a special 90-minute documentary that will air Sunday, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. with an immediate replay at 9:30 p.m. five nights before the star-studded opening.
There’s no official confirmation yet that new boyfriend of eight months David Lucado will escort Britney today, but I can confirm that he will be with her for the opening-night show along with numerous Hollywood stars who have promised to attend.
On Monday, Britney taped a segment with “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” after celebrating her 32nd birthday with some of her cast and crew during a break from rehearsals. “Ellen” airs today as Britney flies to Las Vegas.
The international pop icon has requested as her birthday wish for fans to support St. Judge Children’s Research Hospital. On Wednesday, we’ll have exclusive news, full photo galleries and wrap-up video.

Catering to the young and modern crowd, Planet Hollywood is a one-stop shop for entertainment with its massive shopping mall, slew of restaurants, spacious casino and clubs.
The ambiance of the casino is retro-chic meets high-tech with black granite floors throughout and colorful LED lights throughout the space. The theme carries into the 100,000 square-foot casino with 250 flat screens topping off slot machines. The casino is also home to 87 tables, a sports book and a poker room.
There's also the Miracle Mile Shops, one Vegas' largest malls, with 140 stores including BCBG Max Azaria, bebe, Urban Outfitters and The Discovery Channel Store.
Following an afternoon of shopping, guests can satisfy their appetites at one of the gourmet restaurants in Planet Hollywood, like the non-traditional approach to steakhouses at Strip House or check out the exotic Far East motif at KOI restaurant and lounge. And if guests are still looking for more, they can spend the after hours at Privé, Triq or Krave nightclubs.
Perhaps one of the resorts biggest attractions came in March with the addition of "Peepshow." The naughty twist on the story of Little Bo Peep is modern-day spin on the run-of-the-mill Vegas topless review. The "Peepshow" stage has seen visiting celebs like Scary Spice Mel B, "Dancing with the Stars" Kelly Monaco and Playboy's Holly Madison.
