It’s the third annual celebration of Fashion’s Night Out around the world today, and 120 Las Vegas stores are taking part in the global promotion. The initiative is to celebrate the art of fashion and boost the industry’s economy during difficult times by restoring consumer confidence.
The superstar names of fashion are welcoming Fashion Police, E! News and Style Network stars Bill and Giuliana Rancic, Zowie Bowie and Caesars Palace headliner singer Matt Goss to galas tonight at the Palazzo and Venetian shopping promenades, The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Fashion Show mall and Crystals at MGM’s CityCenter.
At TAG Heuer in Crystals, there’s a fundraiser component when Fitz and the Tantrums perform for a Larry Ruvo-hosted party to benefit our beloved charity Keep Memory Alive. It’s a joint effort with Fendi, with 20 percent of purchases tonight going to KMA.
The celebrity appearances start with Bill and Giuliana hosting a 6 p.m. cocktail party and red carpet runway show at Double Helix Wine Boutique in The Shoppes at the Palazzo. Bill and Giuliana will take one lucky winning couple on an immediate $2,000 shopping spree. Zowie Bowie -- Chris Phillips and Marley Taylor -- perform afterward at Neiman Marcus in Fashion Show.
Matt, who will be with So You Think You Can Dance guest judge and Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin, will award the first-ever Best New Las Vegas Designer to the winner among Top 3 finalists Mikayla Murruja, Frankie Ortiz and Jimi Urquiaga. All three, who competed in a monthlong online search and voting contest, will showcase their winning looks around the Festival Fountains at The Forum Shops at the spiral escalators’ reflecting pool.
All the locations will feature fashion shows with more than 20 fabulous models. Restaurants are joining in with food and drink offers in between the fashion shows. It’s impossible to name all 120 retail participants, but suffice to say it’s everything from sexy lingerie to stylish shoes, sensational suits, glamorous gowns and of course fabulous jewelry for the most glamorous retail night of the year.
