A point of speculation for weeks, a few details about the Brad Garrett comedy club at Tropicana have been announced -- by Brad Garrett.
The towering comic appeared on BlogTalkRadio’s “Night Views Radio” on Wednesday night during the Annie Duke Celebrity Poker Night at Commerce Casino in Commerce, Calif., just southeast of L.A.
During his interview with host Michael Nayt, Garrett said, “On June 28, I’m opening up my own comedy club. In Las Vegas -- at the Tropicana.” The space is to occupy the old Comedy Stop club, most recently a project of comic Bobby Slayton.
Seeking a return to the vibe of Old Vegas, Garrett is already drawing material from the neighborhood, jabbing at comic Louie Anderson, a headliner across the Strip at Excalibur. He told Duke, “You go to the Knights of the Round Table, then you ride Louie Anderson over to my show.”
Garrett's onstage role at the Trop has not been specified. He makes recurring appearances at The Mirage and is booked there June 26, but not after. No lineups, schedules or pricing has yet been announced by the Tropicana.
