DJ Pauly D and The Situation
By Don Chareunsy, Vegas DeLuxe editor
As the end of the first month of the New Year nears, Las Vegas continues to be the Entertainment Capital of the World, and this past weekend was no different. Perhaps Las Vegas’ New Year nickname should be Party Capital of the World.
Jersey Shore at Jet
Paul “DJ Pauly D” Del Vecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of MTV’s Jersey Shore took a break from the gym and tanning salon to host and spin the wheels of steel at Jet in The Mirage on Friday night. The Italian stallions also showed off their sweet sides by indulging in Couture Pops from Sugar Factory at The Mirage.
DJ Pauly D and The Situation spent $500 on Couture Pops, a favorite of celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Eva Longoria Parker. The duo also posed for photographs with fans when they weren’t showing off their pecs, and our contributing photographers Scott Harrison and Carlos Larios caught the men in action. Our loyal Vegas DeLuxe reader Richard Corey also recorded them on the red carpet.
L.C. at The Bank
Reality TV star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad celebrated her 24th birthday early at The Bank Nightclub in the Bellagio on Friday night with DJ Jamie Lovine and a group of girlfriends. The former The Hills star was presented with a birthday cake in the packed nightclub. L.C. turns The Big 2-4 one week from today. Photographers Denise Truscello and Scott Harrison were on the scene for the birthday party.
LL Cool J @Pure
Rapper, producer, actor and fashion designer LL Cool J, dressed in a green T-shirt, jeans, gray beanie and sunglasses, was joined by a group of friends when he hosted and performed at Pure in Caesars Palace on Saturday night. After signing autographs and posing for photos, LL took requests from the crowd and performed his hits including “Mama Said Knock You Out” and “Headstrong.” LL sipped on Dom Perignon, and his entourage enjoyed Grey Goose cocktails.
At one point during his performance, LL took a moment to mention the crisis in Haiti, retelling the story of a recently found 24-year-old survivor and reminding the crowd to keep hope alive and give. Also at Pure: Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman and his wife Beth seated near LL. The couple posed for a photo with LL after his performance.
Ted Nugent rocks on
It was a celebrity rocker-filled weekend at Green Valley Ranch. Jack Blades of Night Ranger jammed onstage with Steel Panther at Ovation, with legendary manager Doc McGhee in the audience. The next night, Don and Jack dined with Ted Nugent at Hank’s before Ted’s show. Jack once again was onstage and joined Ted for “Cat Scratch Fever.”
Photographer Scott Harrison, who was everywhere this weekend, also photographed Ted in his dressing room before his concert on Saturday night. Ted shows his support for the national campaign “When They Come Back ... We Give Back” by wearing combat boots. The campaign is a call to action for Americans to support the troops when they return home.
