Calitovegas has it right. This economy presents a huge opportunity to Vegas because traditionally, Vegas has offered value. And that's what people are looking for right now.
It has gotten away from that in the last several years, treating customers like suckers with bad gambling and overpriced everything. Start appealing to the regular people who built Vegas again and then maybe they'll have something. If you want to see how it's done, take a trip to the El Cortez.
Let's hope we see more places like this. I'm an out-of-towner, but I appreciate a place that delivers good value, a relaxed atmosphere and fair gambilng. And it seems like they're getting pretty scarce on the strip.

I hope it works out for them, the Plaza has more potential than perhaps any other property downtown, it would be great to see them do something with it.
By the way, "cheap vegas" is not a myth for me, it is alive and well. I love the fact that I can choose to spend $100 per person on world-class dining, or I can choose to spend $10 per person and still eat pretty well. I love the Flame too, the El Cortez is my favorite place downtown.
