That's very interesting that this article states that the BLM actually has a waiting list for adoptions since less than a month ago in Rigby ID over 10 head of wild burros were up for sale (adoption that goes to the highest bidder)under BLM authority. Let's get one thing straight there are hundreds of wild horses and burros being held in BLM facilities at several sites in the US. Every animal adopted saves the tax payer approximately $10-15K over the life of the animal. I don't have all the answers, but shouldn't we be able to come up with a system in which some animals are sterilized and left free to live out their lives and a smaller number rounded up and sold (a.k.a. adopted). We don't need to have as many as what the environment can hold, but rather enough to keep the herds at a healthy level both genetically and physically.
