Maybe all you that want to keep the building going should come up with the money to redo it and make it so that they can use it.
UNLV is short on money, it is more cost effective to take it down and build a new building.
Put your money where your mouth is.
Until most people stop asking the government to keep paying for things taxes are not going to go down.
The money has to come from someplace. To many want the government to be the saving grace of all problems and that costs money.
You can not cut the spending until the public is willing to take responsibility for their own problems.
Following California is not the right way to go. Look at the problems they are having now and all the people leaving California, coming here and trying to make Nevada the same as what they left behind.
I foresee this project being in the news in the future.
It will not be able to be built for the $67 Million that they are planning now.
They will be asking the City for more money to complete the project.
When and If it is ever finished the rents will be higher then projected to cover the costs and it will no longer be affordable to seniors as stated now.
The Casino industry already pays about 50% of all the taxes in the State of Nevada. Just how much is their fair share so that you can live off their work and earnings and not pay anything?
When was the last time you put up Billions of Dollars to do something for this State?

At one point in time the Unions where needed in this country but things have changed.
Look at the Major Casino Companies that are not union. They are paying as well if not better then the Union houses and the benefits are as good if not better. Difference being is that the employee is not having to pay for fat cats to eat at high end restaurants and stay in four star hotels.
The unions have shown their true colors when they finished using this women. They used her up and left her on the streets.
Unions are nothing more then legal protection rackets that make the guys at the top rich off the backs of the working man.
