I don't know the details of what happens in that group, and cannot comment about Prabhu.
But you seem to be misinformed about the 'J1 physicians': they are not residents. they are fully trained doctors who went through residency and fellowship (with the American docs) and are Board certified in their subspecialties.
This is a job, wth a contract. No one is doing anyone a favor.
so if they ask the candidate about gay marriage this time, she will know what to answer, given who is judging??

Regarding patients who receive controlled substances from multiple providers:
The database is not always up to date: pharmacies sometimes neglect to report the prescriptions filled.
Also, why not have the providers who are writing the prescription check the state's online database before giving a script? It is easier for the doctor not to provide the script than for the pharmacy not to fill it..
A hands free phone is as dangerous as having a conversation or listening to music in the car. Your mind is not on the road in any of those cases. So should we ban radios in the cars too?
Despite the state's best intentions, the contract remains between the employer (abusive or not) and the employee (J1 physician).
If there is any problem of abuse, the State is powerless, unless the said abuse violates the laws of the J1 program.
All the State can do is " strongly recommend" a change, which is what they did here- to no avail. The non-compete and $250,000 clauses mentionned by Mr Allen remain in effect in many contracts to this time.
why take a 7 year old kid with you if you don't know what you're doing??
First, thank you to plc5 for your comment above. Medicine is a challenging job; people don't often appreciate that.
Second, one of the most difficult problems, in my opinion, of practicing in LV is taking care of patients with chronic pain.
The sheer number of these patients is staggering. Some have genuine pain, with pathology on testing, others just come in asking for medications. Some get angry if you recommend further testing to evaluate for a treatable cause of their back pain, or knee pain; and deny being addicted to the narcotics that they demand (sometimes quite heatedly).
This event above is truly concerning to me.
