It odd that I hear everyone saying there are no jobs, but I know people who are finding jobs. I have also talked to people who have just relocated here and have no problem finding a job. It may not be a union plumbing job making 40 bucks an hour but its a job that puts food on the table. Problem is as long as you are handing out money for free there is no incentive to look for work. Thats the bottom line. Thats why unemployment benefits run out. Its a temporary bridge. Its not suppose to last forever. I think it is a great thing when not abused. But believe me plenty are abusing it. SOme aren't.
I think this is absurd that someone can get unemployment for this long. Then one guy above spouts off about his union plumber brother is 170 on the list. Sounds like your brother needs to start looking for work outside of the plumbing trade. It is not taxpayer responsibility to support a union plumber because he refuses to work at the jobs that are available.
I like the idea of an arena however I disagree with tearing down a perfectly good city hall. I like the mayor but the idea we need to throw a bunch of money at a new city hall is just ridiculous.
I didn't realize this was a fatal shooting. I thought it was believed Duensing's wounds were not life threatening.

Metro did exactly what needed to be done. If they had not taken him out and he ended up killing her, can you imagine the outcry from the community. Metro has a duty to protect the public and thats what happened.
