That shot of the Rebel Girl falling pretty much sums things up. Great photos yet again!
The conference deserves four bids... Utah, BYU, New Mexico, and SDSU. We can hang our hat on that Louisville win all day long, but there's no way we deserve to go instead of those four teams. It is a disappointment to be sure, but this latest loss isn't the reason. The losses at TCU and CSU along with back-to-back home losses early in the year against solid, but not great, teams did us in.
He should hope that the Rebels are 60/40 in even wanting him on the squad. Kruger is quick to get rid of problems and I can't see that staff putting forth the effort to bring a problem in. Obviously, we don't know exactly what went down other than it wasn't related to academics and he was asked to apologize to the team, which he refused to do.
He's a brilliant basketball player, but do the Rebels need a problem in the locker room, particularly with the departure of what leadership we did have. Someone always steps into that role, but it's not always obvious who will.
There are plenty of good kids that can play ball and be good teammates. I would rather see us spend the time and energy on one of those guys.
Deeply embarrassing for the construction industry in Las Vegas. It is unfortunate that most of the country will know the development only as the "one that cut the building in half."
What's Bellfield doing? How about winning this game!! I would be happy to have a senior run the team as well as he does.
O.K., I've officially moved into the "bad officiating" camp... and it's bad on both sides.
Lenny makes a good point in regards to seeding, but that's making a big assumption that we will win either the regular season or tournament. A loss at home to New Mexico would make a regular season conference title very difficult. Year after year the Mountain West title goes to the team that protects their home floor and win the ones they should on the road. The MWC doesn't get 7-8 teams in the tournament like the Big East, it's more like 2 or 3, if we're lucky. Right now the two best teams are UNLV and BYU, but New Mexico is very good as is SDSU. We'll know a lot more about Utah after they play Gonzaga tonight. Therefore, that New Mexico game at the T&M is hugely important.
UNLV needs to stand up to this run. Go Rebs!
It looks like foul trouble will be our biggest problem. The calls have been tight on both sides, from what I've seen.
Great 1st half by the Rebels! They look great on the defensive side of the ball. The pressure out front is allowing them to keep Samuels at an uncomfortable distance down low. Bellfield is doing a good job of handling the ball and Rougeau just does his thing.

This is really bad news and no one seems to really care (except teachers).
Tying teacher pay to test scores may seem like a reasonable thing to do, but once you talk to a current educator about the state of the education system you'll quickly realize that it is the worst possible measure of teacher performance. Teachers that decide to stay in the classroom will be forced to teach to an arbitrary test. Say goodbye to any critical thinking skills. The great majority care only about their child's education as far as getting them to the next grade. Very few actually spend time with their children outside the classroom going over homework. In fact, most parents complain about their children having homework... but you're going to tie that child's performance to teacher pay?
