The only significant error in judgement I see is;

The Editor of The Las Vegas Sun allowing this story to be run and printing a picture of the off duty police officer.

Coolican your picking and choosing your facts. Yes GE doesn't pay taxes, but small businesses do. When you have a tax law that is set to expire causing a tax increase it effects decisions to purchase equipment and hire. Small businesses will lead us out this....session.

Deregulation in the 1980s hmmm. Weren't the airlines deregulated then? causing upstarts and airlines like Southwest to flourish, which obviously assisted(provided?)in Vegas's growth?

Housing that is too complicated to address in a soundbite that the 40% of a Americans who don't watch the news and do decide elections to grasp.
But rest assured the biggest component of the fix, will not be a government program it will be the economy itself.

I'm not a Romney supporter or frankly even a fan...yet. But he is someone who has had to cover a payroll, which I like. Therefore I am learning as much as I can.

My father retired teacher for a small private school, didnt make near the salary current teachers make. He painted houses and did landscaping in the summer, and had a small evening janitor job in the evenings (year round).
