They're just another source of pollution. I'd say let them operate if they provided free shuttle service for pedestrians or something. I mean, isn't a bus/monorail enough of a rolling billboard?
Conventional rail trains would be cheaper and easier to implement. The best way for a system like this to be implemented would be to have a high speed steel wheel train capable of both automobile drive-on/drive-off and normal seating connecting downtown LV to downtown LA.
It needs to work like the Channel Tunnel trains, and it has to offer something in the way of convenience and price over the airlines.
Maglev is a fantastical pipedream that will fail. If not technologically, then financially.
Awesome video. Great story! Aaron, I'd love to photograph you in action some day. Let me know when you might be at the park for practice and I'll meet you there. You'll love the photos. torklugnutz@hotmail.com
Let's not forget that this club was seized under The Patriot Act. I'm sure this all makes us a lot safer from terrorists.
I wish the deleted comments were simply screened. I'd enjoy reading the idiocy.
Good for you, publicly endorsing Obama. I hope this year is a record turnout at the polls.
The bailout was hogwash. I support anyone who voted against it, and even old ladies who SAY they would have voted against it.
I put $20k into a condo in Chicago with hopes of relocating. The developer, Andrius Augunas, stole my deposit, along with 39 others after somehow managing to close the escrow account. The bank foreclosed on the partially erected structure and I'm left in a position of having a contract of doubtful value and no hope of ever seeing my deposit again.
I don't envy Chris's position, and I hope that he doesn't wind up surrounded by apartments, but it could be much worse. It can always be worse.
Saying that the preservation group has chosen 11 sites and then only listing 5 of them sort of begs the questions, doesn't it?
Did the aforementioned Charles Manson Hotel make the list?
