I thought when they laid off those 44 people at the jail that took care of the lost revenue? Did the city manager make a mistake?
Stupid is as stupid does. What do they expect the cops to do when they have a bunch of folks mixing alcohol and guns? But don't worry, due to the overcrowding in the jail, they'll probably get out within a few days...and back out on the street. The cops arrest them and then out thru the revolving door...thanks NLV City Council and Acting Chief of Police Chronister
But this won't help the 19 Detention Officers being laid off will it? What's the use of having more police if there is no one to keep them in custody? Sounds like the employees at the Detention Center don't count according to the Police Department, evne though they are suppose to be one department.
yeah...and now that the jail is laying off officers there won't be anyone to keep all the drunks, drug addicts and prostitutes off the streets of NLV....give your kids a real education and bring them to downtown North Las Vegas
What about those who post stories to Facebook....even though there is a Facebook box right next to the article as to who posted what....I hate to think of what the RJ will do to the Facebook crowd...
Let me see, a member of a violent gang, a child pornographer and someone who made a terrible poison....each of whom is a danger to the common population. Perhaps those who feel sorry for them can offer to invite them to live in their neighborhood. I think not. Lockdown is meant to either keep violent individuals from causing problems in the jail population or to keep them safe. Sounds like North Las Vegas is doing their job.

As usual the City wants to cut those at the bottom of the food chain. What about the accountability for the "leaders" who got the city into this mess?
