"If a kid cant cut it in regular school then boot him out and let him face the world being a loser and deal with it."
If a child, a student, does not have the home support or is not raised in an "ideal" environment and makes poor decisions, then a school should kick them out? I do not understand this logic. Yes, young people will on occasion make bad choices; however, adults have been known to make bad choices as well. Would it not be better to assist a young person through remedial programming and a more supportive school environment, allowing them to better understand the consequences of their actions and permit them to become better members of society?
If we continually "kick" students out of school, where do they end up? On the street progressing into more and more destructive behaviour. We need to break the culture of violence, disfunction and low academic achievement by supporting alternative school environments. For many young people, alternative schools are the only answer.
