During the Gore v. Bush debates, Gore pledged to put SS in a lock box, Dubya wouldn't do it. The republicans ridiculed Gore for that. George used SS fund for a piggy bank.
Further, SS has not added one cent to the national debt. The simplest way to cure any future deficits in the system is to take the cap off. Make everyone pay taxes on all the money they earn. Take the cap off and fix SS funding once and for all.
The republicans want to give that 2+ trillion dollars to their wall street backers so that they can make even more money. It's time for those who aren't wealthy, as the top 3%, to realize that the republican party does not represent them.
You republicans amaze me. You strike out at Reid for aiding and saving Clark Co. businesses and jobs. Yet, you haven't any problem receiving monies from foreign companies funneled through the U.S. chamber of commerce, from big phrama, oil, insurance co's. and the rest. You also oppose disclosure laws, that would require groups like the chamber and Bush's Brain, Rove, from telling the public where the funds they are donating came from. Hypocrites.
Ask Sisolak how he made his money in the late eighties and into the nineties, by running a telemarketing company. Calling people and telling them they won a prize and all you had to do to get that prize was purchase these wonderful worthless pieces of ????. How many elderly went broke buying into this? Making Mr. Sisolak a rich man.
CanyonHigh, could you please tell the public what the illegal activities are for which Clinton should be prosecuted. After eight years of the war criminal George W., I would think you would be over Clinton by now.

Social Security has not added one penny to the national debt. It is 100% solvent for another 30 years, than it would be capable of paying off at 75%. One way to correct any shortfalls in the program is to take the cap off. Persons pay ss tax on 100% of one's earnings at 105k. Shouldn't those earning above that mark also pay on 100% of their earnings. I for one say yes.
