It's remarkable to see how selfish police and firefighter unions and union members are. When everyone else is making sacrifices at the State and local levels. The Clark County Firefighters and Reno Police department employees want a raise in these difficult times. Everyone sacrifices and some more than others. It time to put the community first and not ourselves. In good times the rewards are forthcoming.

What is sad here these thugs were allowed to plea to a lessor charge for taking the life of a human being. I guess its cheaper to plea than to ask for their life in prison or the death penalty in this case. I guess the victims family is happy with the DA office. Its a wonder why anyone lives in LV with a reported murder everu week in the LV Sun or LVRJ. This what turns tourist away. The neighborhoods and poliuce department need to work together to combat crime its sad 10 years for a life.

The last prison guard fired for watching a DVD in a tower won 350,000 from the NDOC. Lets ask how Skolnik the Director was told to get rid of one warden position down south by legislature and instead ignored them and split High Desert State Prison into two facilty to ensure his 40 year old buddy from Illinois can remain in a Warden position and call the other half of HDSP High Desert Corectional Center whos investigating this waste of tax payers money and ignoring legislatures. Where is the AG on this

This same situation happened in the Nevada Department of Corrections, when you complain on your boss be ready for the no promotion zone, retaliation and continued discrediting of your name. As long as people with power do what ever they feel is right until sued or opposed there will be retaliation in the work force as displayed in the NDOC.

There is no way out of this economic crisis without raising taxes. The taxes should be levied against the people and services visiting this state. There is plenty of options and its time not to be closed minded. There will be numerous low income people impacted and our seniors along with the disabled. We wont a gOvernor to lead not be at a sage grouse convention when this Stat needs leadership. Good news only one more year of him.

Employees are at risk now because of all the staff vacancies. When will the Board of Prison Commisionrs and the Governor step in. What will it take an employee or inmate death. The severe understfaffing is taing its toll on employees and he understaffing is due to satisfying this Governor and not looking at Public Safety.

The reason Skolnik has no support is he slaps correctional staff in the face daily. He does not care and is not fiscally responsible. His request to cose NSP is because the staff fights for their rights. He has bee quoted by top management as saying that NSP is going and so is the staff. The call fr his and Warden Donat resignation is long over due. For Skolnik to saythe inmaters for voter fraud were pulled off as soon as they knew is not true. Inmates cannot work at places unless approved by the prison. So he and his administration new this. How many of those inmates cased the public home to burgalrize. He places the staff in harms way does not care and the public is at risk with his plan to close NSP. Yet he holds a BBQ and th state pays for the food for all the Directors from other state agency. Miller you need to look deep into its time for change in the NDOC. Skolnik, Donat, Deputy Director Cox and Connet all need to go tee are people he broght in from the outside and ruined a good organization who has pride in their profession. Miller and Maesto for Governor and use your powers and force his resignation for the good of all peace oficer and correctional staff who serve this state

Once again our Governor is out of state and out of touch with Nevadadans. The commissions he create every week is running this state. Were in a fiscal crisis and hes on a sage grouse convention. He is not leading this State and using taxes dollars over something his subordinates can discss over the telephone. He cares nothig about state workers getting ready to lose their jobs around this state. Its an embarrassment when will he resign.
