Can you say sore loser?
Clinton has taken three for three of the casino precincts. Well done!
Isn't it interesting that Obama always has to compare himself to someone else, with no great humility, I might add, MLK, Lincoln, Jefferson, Mandela, and even Moses (yes THE Moses) Why does he do this? Because he has no record to stand on himself.
Clinton only needs her own record and experience.
Shouldn't that decide people's votes right there.
What I would like to say to obama's supporters who say, "He's like MLK" "or He's like Thomas Jefferson", "or He's like Lincloln, or Nelson Mandela" is this:
HILLARY CLINTON IS LIKE HILLARY CLINTON!
Magic Johnson said yesterday, "We don't need someone who preaches dreams. We needs someone who preaches solutions!"
Amen to that!
I think that "one person one vote" was what you meant and you should have taken the effort to write it. I am aware that words like "manpower" are actually derived from the French word for hand, but in this case, the term actually applies to the fact that women were not given the vote until 1920. I feel that it is important to say one person one vote, especially when discussing a legal challenge involving enfranchisement or disenfranchisement, access or unconstitutional influence in voting.
"Tactics don't cross the line unless workers are threatened"???
I'm sorry, paid union organizers lieing to workers crosses the line!
Only ensuring that workers who support your candidate get the time off is crossing the line!
The Culinary has crossed the line repeatedly. The fact that these voting sites were set up in work places dominated by one union crosses the line and is unprecidented.
I can't believe some union official has the gaul to say that unless workers are threatened, no one has crossed the line.
There are lots of other ways to intimidate and ensure that only Obama supporters get to the polls, which is exactly what the Culinary is doing.
You know, I'm sure that my prostitute comment offends some people, but think about it. Why should someone have to disclose where they work, when they work and what their job is to vote? Why shouldn't a woman, who has perhaps not the most respected job, be able to vote without disclosing that in public.
What if someone is a stipper, or other low level position in society's esteeem and doesn't want to be disregarded by that at a caucus site. People who disagree with her choice, will be able to say, "Well you're just a stripper, or a maid, or a dishwasher" A casino owner, or manager can also show up to these sites, by the way, and tell people, "I'll give you a better job if you support my candidate". Does anyone think that the rich men in suits, or union bosses, also rich men in suits btw, at these caucuses won't be listened to more than the maids and dishwashers?
What a sad day for democracy in America. The secret ballot in a voting booth is a great equalizer.
Hopefully as many observers as possible come to these sites, but the damage will have been done. The union is only ensuring that those who support Obama get time off. In my world that's called voting fraud, not democracy.
The real question here is how will people PROVE they are working with in 2.5 miles and at that time? Can a prostitute working the strip come and caucus at these sites?? Who would vouch for her? Her pimp. Do you need a union to vouch that you are working at the time and where you are working. These at large precincts violate so many voting laws is is astonishing.
The democratic party said they would set up at large caucus sites in workplaces of more than 4000 people on Saturday, which happen to only be casinos. Who can vote in them is much murkier. I have read the rules. It is not clear.
Who decides if you can vote at these sites??? Who will be turned away? Do you need ID?
My understanding is that you do not need ID at this time to vote and you only have to show residency. Well how do you show where you work????? A pay slip may not have the location of your worksite on it. Someone may have just started their job. Someone may be self employed. Others may show up just to vote where their votes have more weight. How do you prove they shouldnt be there?
These voting sites are more about the Culinary influencing an election than anything else. It is so open to intimidation and voting fraud it is astounding.
Not only was GW Bush incompetent, he was a puppet controlled and directed by others when they were interested, ie Iraq.
Who will control and direct Mr. Obama if elected? He does not have the experience or substance or conections to be running the Oval Office? Who will be his "advisors". He has already admitted himself he will need people around him to help him. The media needs to examine who these people will be as Mr. Obama's choice of advisers, who would have far too much influence given his lack of experience, is crucial.
We know his campaign is heavily backed by the nuclear lobby, so assume they will be involved. We know he atttends a very cult like black power church whose minister is a close person al friend of Farrakhan and has gone to Lybia to visit Ghadafi. This man is Obama's personal spiritual advisor, and prayed with the family about his candidacy and dedicated their home and baptised their children and married the Obama's.
Assume he will continue to be Mr. Obama's advisor. Do American's want a friend and admireer of Farakhan advising their President when the middle east is in crisis and the US is at war with Islamic militants?
We know he has had personal dealings involving a 300,000 dollar discount on his home, courtesy of a corrupt influence peddler.
These are serious questions that need to be asked. If Obama had more experience, more of a princpled voting record, and more substance to his candidacy, we could say he would not be that influenced by others. But history shows, and it its fair to say, that will not be the case with someone as inexperienced and unqualified for the job of President as Mr. Obama.
This is not swiftboating. Swiftboating was lies. This is appropriately vetting of a candidate. Obama's voting record is so thin, mostly non-votes of absence or presence, that really no noe knows what he would do as President. A such, I can't imagine why anyone, in good conscience with second thought, would vote for the man.
Since Mr. Taylor didn't mention who he was referring to, by democrats trying to disenfranchise people, perhaps it was his own union reps, who were caught telling members they couldn't caucus unless they voted for Obama.
Leon the AFSCM wont know if someone is a member, or where they work, if they dont want to be known, as they aren't caucusing at work. Those members are caucusing where they live and won't be identified by uniforms or id cards.
Only the culinary union has workers caucusing at its worksites, only the culinary union will be able to intimidate its workers as it has opening said it will, "the union stands together etc." ie don't cross us and has actively told members they cant caucus unless they are supporting Obama.
I encourage all out of state organizers to go to the at large caucus sites and observe, as is allowed as long as possible, informing workers of their rights. Hopefully Culinary workplaces will also be blanketed with flyers outlining their rights to vote for whomever they want.
I also hope the press, national and international, will be present in droves with cameras, inside and outside these highly undemocratic caucus sites.
