"Tie off and you won't fall??"
Go back to the families who hold the safety harnesses that their loved ones were using and tell them that it was their own fault for their death. You don't know what any of the families of those who have fallen have to go through.
Firedawg2000 remember to call your family everyday and be thankful you are still here to point the finger of blame.
"Work Safe..."???
I'm sorry, but what makes you think those men didn't work safe? My brother is one of the 10 that these articles are about. He did work safe. He had a family to take care of. He had a life.
The men he worked with stood up against safety conditions at their job site only to return to the same situation. Nothing Changed! If that company had corrected or fixed those safety problems, my brother may still be here today. They put him in harms way. That is not right!
The State of Nevada, Nevada OSHA, and all the construction companies in Las Vegas, you still have many more construction workers there building your city, Protect Them!
mikeg, please don't make a joke about this issue... There are families out here that are hurting as a result of this growing problem. Losing a loved one is nothing to laugh about. These men went to work in Vegas to support their families, to have a life. They are the ones who will not be returning at the end of the day. Please show some respect.
My hope it that the State of Nevada will make the correct changes to protect the countless other construction workers who are still building in Vegas. It is by their hands and hard work that those buildings are going up. Take care of those that are still there. Safety should be a priority to any company no matter the business you are in.

Everyone needs to also remember that not all these men who have lost their lives fell. Some of them lost their lives to walls collapsing, elevator malfunctions, make-shift equipment and dangerous gases. I realize they need one story to focus on but that was not the only cause of death for some of the other men.
Some of those other deaths were preventable. OSHA and the contractors did fail them. Not holding those companies accountable is what continues to be the underlying problem. If you don't, where will it end?
No one deserves to have another life lost. No one deserves to not have their loved one come home at the end of the day. I will never see my brother again. Neither will his mother, fiance, or his children.
Stop making excuses and start fixing the problem!
