Fantastic idea! Creative like this city needs & lacks. I visited the Portland Saturday market a few years ago and believe it or not I actually WEPT at the bounteous energy of the offerings & patrons. OK I admit it, I'm a softie, but still.... Great proposal, Mr. Coolican
wiseguy2235 -- "wiseguy," hmmm, something tells me you haven't had an abortion either. You purport to know about that experience? Doesn't smell right to me.
Just sayin'.
Clyde, NO tax dollars pay for abortion and never have since the 1970's. The right-cons have been pulling the wool over your eyes and a lot of others too. PP was the ONLY source of annual healthcare for me and a whole bunch of women I know all through our 20's and even 30's because most of us couldn't afford health insurance! We are talking pap smears, annual exams, STD testing, sliding scale birth control, and more.
Don't believe the hype, people, PP is the least of your worries.
How much have we spent on the war in Iraq this month? Anyone care to look that one up?
Decriminalize and tax. 'Nuff said!
Legalize, already! What a waste...... instead of paying for the enforcement, trial, etc. etc. we could be collecting taxes & licensing fees and adding to the state budget. Sheesh.
@mred, I couldn't agree more. Why legalization/regulation of pot hasn't yet occurred is beyond me, given the destructive behaviors clearly associated with alcohol abuse.
I am very sad that she lost -- Dina Titus' office helped me resolve an issue with my mortgage servicer (a mistake THEY made that I was trying to get sorted out for almost a full year with NO result). When I finally brought my case to Titus, they contacted the servicer and lo and behold, the mistake was finally rectified and I even received a written apology.
Will Joe Heck do the same for his constituents, I wonder......?
High school girls hysterically cheering for Sharron Angle?
Now that's scary.....
I don't use herb because it doesn't agree with me, period. But having it remain illegal is beyond absurd. Wipe away all the hysteria, and indeed there remains a good case to regulate it, like other mind altering substances (ahem, alcohol??)
Did you know that it's physiologically impossible to die from a marijuana overdose? (ahem, alcohol...???)
BTW has anyone here started watching the new TV series, Boardwalk Empire? I highly recommend it. Prohibition was one of the greatest causes of stress ever placed on the American Family -- some things never change.
End Prohibition Now!

Legalize it, tax it. What a waste of law enforcement resources.
