No one in this community is going to donate more money just because UNR threw 750,000 at a 'part-time'residence/party house. This does not solve the problem. Msg to the Board of Regents:Stop throwing away money. Msg to Clark County Comissioners: Dump UNR and find another school locally to take on oversight and development of UMC as a teaching/research hospital.
If you are feeling isolated and are able, please volunteer your time. This can be a way to help yourself while helping others and an excellent way to create a network of people with whom you have similar interests. There are plenty of organizations that will match your skill sets to their needs. Here are just a few sites that list volunteer organizations and opportunities in the valley:

Sounds like Horner has some 'mommy' issues or suffered thru a nasty divorce. I hope the passage of this bill shuts down any future litigation from Horner.
@ mred,
lol...You may just be onto something here. It's not natural for men to have such perfect hair except for maybe John Ensign. I believe that their particular faith is based on someone who experienced ergot poisoning and lived to tell.
Too bad we can't get the lobbyists on the ballot at voting time. We could vote them out. boftx is right:you can vote out the politicians but not the lobbyists. You can rotate the politicians but the lobbyists still run the show.
"It's not easy or popular to talk about problems, but you deserve to know the truth."
Intimating my colleagues and everyone else in politics lies and dances around issues except for me...so let me spin this as though I'm gonna let you,the ignorami,in on the truth. This type of language works in medicine it doesn't convey in the world of politics.

Brasscasing wrote....'need a paycheck commiserate with what they do.' Commiserate? He could also try looking up the words 'commiserate' and 'commensurate'. Typo? I think not.
Yay Nevada:how low can you go?
@ One Eyed Genius,
Great! Next time you won't mind of I re-use a syringe on you,you know, after I passed some beach through it right? Yeah. I do know a little something about reprocessing of medical devices and I also know there is a disconnect in this country between the processes that *should* be followed per the FDA et al. and the reality of how to go about getting those devices properly sterilized. The cow is dead so no one needs your bull....the cow probably died from an improperly cleaned single use only device but then again we can't blame you since you never took a microbiology course to know the difference between 'sterile','degerminated','clean','disinfected','asceptic' 'germicidal','sanitation' and the processes involved in the proper sterilization of equipment that cannot be subjected to routine sterilization methodologies.

Thank-you to Mr. Coolican for bringing this travesty to light. I hope this incident boosts interest in CSAs and strengthens the Bledsoe's resolve to continue on. While I'm quite certain the SNDA believes they are only enforcing laws already on the books, I would trust the local farm/CSA far more than I would trust big Agra and GMO substances that Monsanto and their lobbyist shills force upon us. Of course a case of food poisoning can have deadly consequences"however, equally deadly is the slower, insidious offing of one's immune system via eating GMO foods over time.
