I think Las Vegas is priviledged to have such a beautiful building by such a talented architect in its ranks. In a city where, outside the strip, there is no architectural individuality, faux Tuscan is rampant and everything looks the same, I will finally have some architectural eye candy!!!

So I guess 25% of the crimes with guns is ok for gun aficionados. Well, at least that's one of the arguments in favor of looser gun laws. Everyone refers to the Constitution for the right to bear arms. That document was written in a time when guns where necessary, hey!we were still invading an inhabited land. I've grown up in NYC, lived in DC and in other cities all over the world, but for the first time in my life, living in Las Vegas, I never feel safe. No matter what time of day, no matter what neighborhood. I like to go to the range to shoot. Do I want a gun in my home? NO. Does the thought that my neighbors may have one disturb me? Absolutely. The 72 hour waiting period is also a COOL OFF period, which I am sure has saved many lives. And if you're not going to premeditate ANYTHING, what's 72 hours? Grow up folks, it's not the OK Corral and you're not John Wayne. And YES, DC residents SHOULD have representation. After all, they are affected by what decisions are made in their own city, so let's give them a voice. You can't refer to the constitution for your own convenience and then shut out the rights of others! That's hypocritical, but what else is new!

The fact that Pataki is out there campaigning for McCain speaks volumes to me. One of the worst governors of NY State? It makes me giddy!! NYers for OBAMA!

When I look into McCain's emotionless eyes, I see Marlon Brando's character in 'Apocolypse Now'. And Palin reminds me of Kathleen Turner's character in John Waters' 'Serial Mom'. McCain is a despot who looks down his nose at his subjects, but his followers have their heads so far up his a*^ they don't notice. He is rude, disrespectful and out of touch. The rest of the world already sees the United States in this way, it's just a continuation of what already is.

And yes, taxes will be needed to pay for this financial fiasco, but how about taxing Big Oil instead of taking campaign contributions (among other financial perks) from them in exchange for tax breaks when they're having 'record profits'. And this Wall Street bailout could have paid for a healthcare system for the entire country, new roads, highways, new schools, hell, even bail out all these states that now need bailing out, but Wall Street bigwigs still get to walk away with their multimillion dollar bonuses.
