I believe the fist thing to do is clear the air on this situation of safety.It is not osha's job to make sure the worker's are in a safe work enviroment,that is the employer's job.OSHA is designed to ensure they stay in compliance with said regulation's and standard's,I.E.1926,1910,what have you.
The second problem is training,all companies have a safety program,the question is,who and how is this program being implemented on job site's?Too many time's have i run into "safety people" on job site's who really have no business being there,they put the men and women in danger,as much as themselves.Improper training is a constant,wether companies want to admit it or not,it is the case.Safety people that come into this business from a school,or insurance companies have a demeanor about themselves that more often than not create's an animosity among the workers.Don't believe it? Go to a pub where the fella's hang out and listen to the chatter,you'll get the idea.
People in construction have their own lingo,and if it is not understood,can be a hazard.Coming from the trades,and going into safety has been both eye-opening and a philisophical journey,again lingo.The sooner these issue's are addressed,the faster recovery will happen.common-sense folk's,common sense.Work Safe...
