Uh, yeah Patti, that's why I put that out there. They are interesting figures. Willis was very interested in taking a closer look at them after practice Monday. That was the point.
lvnative, touche ... I'm with you :-)
I had a great view of that screen he set to ensure that Jasper would get that 'oop,' and it was as impressive as the throw-down ... thx all
There was an error in the official UNR box score, re: Chop's field goals. Shaw is actually a +3. (Those figures are a bit tedious to compile.) He had a +7 vs UNR, +4 vs. S Ill, +1 vs Holy Cross and -9 vs Louisville ... thus, +3. Jasper has been on the best roll, with +20, +12 and +15 in his past three games.
I think Shaw is going to have some big games, and hit some big shots, this season. Each one of those centers brings something different to the court, and I think that will give opposing coaches headaches.
thx
Louis, I think it's a topic we're doing to explore further very, very soon... thx
fan11, no worries... thx... I'm not immune to negative stuff, tho... and I have no problem with those who have issues with something I write, etc ... this forum is about interesting and insightful (sometimes) exchanges of ideas ... all good
By the way, Chop is 2-for-11 this season in 68 minutes vs D-I foes ... (not 1-for-10) ... there was an error in the UNR box score ...
fever24, Cory was not at the game. He was finishing a third game in three days with Findlay at a tourney in Peoria, Ill.
fever 2, Wed night Findlay plays at home. Australia Travelers at 7 pm. Henderson Int'l is easy to get to. You can get there from Horizon Ridge, that's my easiest route. From Eastern, to to H Ridge and take a left. If you're coming from the east on H Ridge, just take it to Sandy Ridge. Go all the way up, through a couple lights, until it ends. All the way (it's not too long) ... take a right and Henderson Int'l is right there at the right. More folks should be heading up there and flashing UNLV posters and We Want Cory and all sorts of stuff. I think that would go miles.
monsterjam, say what you want, but I am not the PR wing of the program, sports dept. or university. Facts are facts, and one basket in 68 minutes against D-I foes? That's a tough one, no matter how much "hustle" you bring to the court or how important it is to spell others.
11, who said he's selfish???
fever, solid points. I'll ck it out, for what it's worth.
MWCRob, I totally agree. The officials have been sooo perplexing. I'd love to see a game between two college teams at Sunset Park, a la pickup style. Without refs.

patti, it's just something to look at in the first few weeks of a season, nothing more and nothing less. Just some fodder to discuss.
I have nothing against Chop either. He's a great kid. Very admirable.
Snyder, I'd never make it as a coach for many, many, many, many reasons... and I'm leaving out about a million. Kruger practices are awesome, absolutely awesome, for what he does, how he teaches and how the players respond and improve. One or two fall through the cracks. He can't be 100 percent accurate in how he gauges them. Nobody can. But he is a master.
Maybe my comment wasn't fair. Maybe it was. Guess what? That's life. Everything isn't going to be 100 percent positive spin, is it?
To be most specific, refs would be the main reason why my coaching career would last 2.7 games, tops. That's being kind.
thx all
