Time for a parade. Quick, close the strip.
Calling the casino's "victims" is a bit of a stretch.
Steve Green - you need to report the fact that CoreLogic changed its methodology - the old method had over 80% of Las Vegas homeowners with negative equity on their mortgage.
WSJ:
"The latest First American data aren't comparable to previous estimates because the company revised its methodology. First American now accounts for payments made by homeowners that reduce principal, and it no longer assumes that home-equity lines of credit have been completely drawn down."
Only 12? More like only 12 who were actually caught.
The out of control, lawless antics of Metro will not stop until the FBI comes in and turns the department upside down. Honest cops should be happy to see it happen.
It seems we have to types of posters here. One are Metro followers who think every cop is a hero and most of the rest of society is scum and vermin who must be put down. The other are ordinary citizens who look at the out of control antics of Metro and are asking wtf?
It is sad to see pictures of Nettleton with his family. But Nettleton was not on duty (despite what Gillespie says) when he was murdered. Metro has every right to be upset to see one of their own murdered. But one wishes they had the same amount of compassion for some of the people they have shot and killed lately. This is why many are beginning to ask just who are the criminals here. Maybe a thorough investigation Of Metro by the FBI is exactly what is needed.
Maybe then we can get our police to stop shooting so many people. Then we can get them to slow down, fasten their seatbelts and follow the law. Imagine that.
Everyone feels for the officer's family and friends at a time like this. But Metro has no business shutting down the strip like this. Period.
Metro's union has a stranglehold on Las Vegas. They get pretty much whatever they want. It is sad to see anyone die like this. But who else besides Metro gets a parade down Las Vegas Blvd when they die?
It is refreshing to know that sometime in December, Gillespie will release new policy changes so that Metro can stop killing themselves via car accidents. How about slow down and fasten your seatbelts? It is called obeying the law. What a concept.
Ah, another chapter in Greenspun's love-fest with Sir-Saint Harry Reid the courageous warrior. Next we will be having a parade down Las Vegas Boulevard while the royal subjects pay homage to King Harry the Great.
Nice to see we can comment on His Highness Harry, now that the Sun's reign of censorship has drawn to a close.
Yes, thank you Sun for ending your reign of censorship which you enacted for the sole purpose of protecting your love interest, Harry Reid.
Forgive me if I don't bow down to the rock star Reid as the Sun does. Please excuse me while I go vomit.

Yes, Reza, you are really one smart dude. How are those book sales coming along?
Las Vegas lives on disposable income. People have less disposable income. Las Vegas depends on cheap air travel. With the price of oil high and going higher, those days are gone. Las Vegas lives on people obsessed with gambling. Almost every state either has gambling or will add it in the future. The outlook for the economy here is bleak.
As for CityCenter, it makes as much sense as building another car dealership when auto sales are declining. And if CityCenter needs a cash infusion at some point, best not go to Dubai to get it.
