Posted on: Administrators say no to ponying up for cuts

The above article talks about delaying expansion of empowerment schools and overcrowding yet CCSD is currently installing portable classrooms at the prison for approx 271 student inmates. That could go a long way to help with some overcrowding at schools for kids more deserving.

The school district is asking parents for donations for our children when at the same time, there are approx 48 school district employees from principals down to admin aids working at state prison facilities thru out Clark County. There are also approx 75 inmates workers being paid 25 to 75 dollars per month by CCSD. Educating inmates is a good idea in theory but not when education dollars are so tight. Cuts should start here, not with our children.

Start cutting here: There are approx 48 CCSD employees from admin aids to principals working at state prisons thru-out Clark County. There are approx 75 inmate education workers payed by the school district 25-75 dollars per month. They instruct hundreds of inmate students. In theory, this is a good idea, but when money is tight, the kids in school deserve these resources first.

If you are going to post a comment and expect to be taken seriously, check your spelling, grammar etc. "Prison Guards" usually can't spell but "Correctional Officers" can. The fact is that NSP is too expensive to maintain. It's a sinking ship. It is fiscally responsible to shut it down. Skolnik is doing the best he can with the resources he gets.
