C'mon she got a message from god. You can't sue her for doing god's work. This is blasphemy.

I wish this were the end of seeing Sharon Angle's mug on tv. I actually can't believe that there are people out there who believe some of the crap she is spewing. I'm not saying Harry Reid is an angel sent from god but Angle is the absolute worst of them.

What it really comes down is economics and protecting their business.

Some of these sites were in clear violation of copyright whether intentional or not. Unfortunately website owners need to do a better job of policing their content.

I do not agree with the tactics by Righthaven and the R-J but because of our current economic condition they are trying their best to stay profitable. It is likely that the newspaper industry is not what it used to be and it's even more imperative that they protect their rights to content.

What Righthaven and the R-J fail to realize is the internet provides and encourages content sharing within reason. With these lawsuits becoming more frequent at some point they may face a backlash which will discourage users from even reading let alone linking to the R-J.

Something to keep in mind. If Google (and other search engine sites) are allowed to "post" a link and a short description, when a search is initiated, one can say that it 'could' be a copyright violation. Google makes money on searches, in addition, Sponsored Links also make money from said search.

This is kind of an extreme example but it also provides us a rule of thumb. The R-J won't sue you if your link and description are similar to what is posted on a search result. And if they do try and sue under these circumstances it would set a precedent that would basically shut down the internet.

I agree with everything you said but reality is support for a non-essential with all of the state-wide problems we have now just isn't going to fly. I have no problem with raising taxes because that is how we pay for our public services but this isn't a public service. It's a pipedream.

I would like to see an actual proposal which outlines the entire proposed tax increases but even before that I want to see a commitment from a pro team. Which we may never get.

Let's see, highest unemployment in the nation - and GROWING! Economic conditions hurting the cyclical tourist business. Almost dead last when it comes to education in the U.S.

But I guess the priority is making sure we get a professional sports team.

Of course if we can get a team and build what Mr. Goodman calls "a high-end arena." Who's paying for those season ticket prices???

Glad to see that Nevada city officials and politicians are more worried about what we need for tourists and visitors. So what happens when all of the residents no longer want to live in Nevada? Who are you going to get to work at this arena? The tourists!!! Maybe a hotel/air/work package deal.

Another item to note. If companies continue to overwork and treat their employees like crap that 13% will increase dramatically. It's not like we haven't lost everything already - homes, credit, money, etc.

OK, so this healthcare reform seems to be the most important issue.

Let's say that thre is over 10% unemployed Americans...Check!

How many of those can afford healthcare on their current income? Hint: They are still unemployed.

So healthcare reform does little good if we don't have jobs to pay for lower cost healthcare. There is still an associated cost. Pretty simple math.

Unless this healthcare reform is FREE healthcare for all, then maybe...we should probably focus on more important issues like jobs and the economy.

While I do not player poker as often as I would like this is just a terrible idea. I'm totally in favor of speeding up play (to a certain extent) and eliminating dealer error (which I have found is a rare occasion) but I want to hold the cards not touch a screen.

I just don't see this working over the long-run. The casinos like the obvious advantages of more revenue, less overhead, and complete player tracking but for veteran poker players this is like playing online.

Part of the poker experience is reading and gauging a player in all aspects including how the player holds the cards or how he places a bet.

Also, having not played on one of these machines (can't really call it a table anymore) how does one hide cards from the opponents?

I guess this also eliminates the need for chip covers...whoopdedoo!

This is just another way to get more money from an already lacking and decling Vegas experience.
