Staff removed my comment which is another example of denying free speacn. I said nothing against the dead officer nor did the other posters. There were no threats or bad language. Charles P Brown must have some pull with this newspaper. What a shame!

One of the reasons against the dancers was no seat belts. If that is to be enforced, all of the individuals riding in the back of pickup trucks should be charged also. The other is safety. It might cause accidents. I see no difference in this truck and the mobile billboards, flashing signs and all of the other distractions on the strip. Sisolak is wrong on that argument. If some one is driving fast enough to run off the road, on to the sidewak and hit a lot of pedestrians, they are speeding.
We had aftershocks in Oct 99 from the California quake.
No law enforcement agency should be allowed to investigate any type of accidents, arrest, deaths or crimes that involve currently employed officers. That is a major conflict of interest. Where is the ACLU and why aren't they involved. I have lived in 6 states and this is the only state that allows these types of conflicts.
Remember one important fact. Once the government creates a tax, they never repeal it. They will replace it for another project because everyone gets accustom to paying the new tax. No more taxes!
Raise the necessary funds from private donors.
The government has never run anything proficiently. More waste at the taxpayers' expense.

I have not smoked in 30 yrs. At the time that I stopped, I was smoking 4 packs a day. I go to most of the casinos monthly to vsit my friends that work there. They all knew about the smoke before thay applied for the jobs, as did everyone else. Since none of them invested in the construction of the casinos, they have no say in the smoking situation. If they don't like the smoking environment, they should quit and seek employment elsewhere. The last time I checked, this is a free county.

People die of lung cancer that have never smoked or been around smokers. Almost all of my family smokes or has smoked. Not one of my relatives has had lung cancer. I also have never seen second hand smoke listed as the cause of death on any death certificates.

Teacher
There are a lot of great teachers in our school system. However there are a lot of teachers eaning a paycheck to show up. There are a multitude of problems.
1. No Parental involvement.
2. Students with no desire to learn.
3. Administrators that override teacher decisions and test results.
4. Too many distractions in the classrooms. Cell phones, dress codes, lack of attention spans, no homework completed, just to name a few.
5. Inability to speak English.
6. Good students should be in classes with good students.
One great solution is entrance exams.
A few additional requirements.
1. If the child cannot speak English, they should not be allowed in the school. Parents need to get them private lessons.
2. If a student is below a grade level, tutoring should be required at the parents expense.
3. If they are mentally challenged, they should be in special education classes.

FYI Muhammed Ali a/k/a Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. was a draft dodger and will never be anything but a criminal to many of us. He proved nothing. Changing religion o get out of fighting in a war. Cowardice.
