Being a resident I dont use that much water. So I think the price hike is ridiculous. I believe the water authority is doing it to get more revenue. If they really would like to "conserve water" they should hike the prices for the casinos by a lot, because out of the whole valley they use the most water by far.
Everyone is right about the high prices, but the visitors authority should try to focus on different things than the las vegas strip. They should try to take tourist out of the strip and put them in the surrounding metro area. Maybe some places like Red Rock, Mt. Charleston, and Lake Mead would attract more visitors and it would feel like there is more to do than just gambling!

I lived here all my life and the summers arent as bad when you live here, because you get used to it real fast. I keep my a/c at 80 when im home, and 85 when im not. The hotels keep it at 82 (stratosphere keeps it at 85) so dont worry about it at all.
