My husband finally received his letter from Public Safety moving him up to a Tier 3 Level. How sad it was hearing that my husband is going to be labeled such a terrible person for the rest of his life for a crime that he just admitted to and didn't even commit, just to protect his daughter from a lying ex-wife who wanted nothing but to destroy the life of her then husband. My heart goes out to the men who plead innocent and no judge even wants to hear their story. To put a law into effect for the people who have served their time and have tried to make peace with themselves and learn from these mistakes, instead a law that has only been passed in 2006 ( Adam Walsh ) throws everybody into one big pot to be punished for the rest of their lives. Why are others not taken into consideration for what this does to their families lives. Now with this going into effect, I have to fear my life, my husbands life and my 11 year old son because of what this will stir up in my neighborhood. I now fear being in my front yard because of what neighbors might be thinking not knowing the circumstances of what and who my husband really is. I also fear for my son in grade school and the harm kids will cause him once they find out who is step dad is.
And so now who is the victim? We are because of a new law that wants to punish everyone for crimes that were a long time in the past and not even as harsh as Tier 3 labels them. If the Adam Walsh Law was passed in 2006, then why should ALL Lower Tiers be pushed to a level that has or had nothiing to do with the punishment that is place into effect now?
Please help me understand more of this ridiculous law that punishes people and their families for the rest of their lives. If people weren't already cruel and vandictive already, look at
what this new law is going to stir up in the future.
Please contact me through e-mail if you should know of any new up dates. I could use all the positive reassurance their is to help and protect my family for what lies ahead.
Sincerely,
Now a New Victim
