The only thing that's sad about this "conversation" (by the way, I'm not trying to trash this column, but rather it's subject) is that Jon could have switched the DO with the RO, and the conversation would look almost exactly the same.

Actually, it really doesn't matter what another member of the Republic Party thinks his cutesy web-name is, he's still a Republic hack!
Anyone who has read any of my postings on various blogs will know that I am NOT a fan of the NSDP staff, but I say tough to the whining from supporters of the Republic Party. Your kind has been slinging bull for so long. Get over it.
Sarah Palin is a major-league flip-flopper on the bridge to "know"-where. She said no thanks after she said thanks, but then said thanks when she got the money anyway.
Enough BS from the Republic Party. Boo-fraking-Hoo!!!
Well now, isn't that a shock!?
Thank you Jon. I consider myself fairly well educated on electoral matters, and I freely admit to failing your test miserably. Admittedly, I know I will ultimately take the time to learn about most of the judicial races and candidates, but, as Sally said to Harry, "YES, YES, YES!!!!!" I agree completely with getting rid of judicial elections.
Ouch!
I hope you're wrong, but...I have this sinking feeling you're completely right.
"No. 3, the Democratic Party: This machine is being turbocharged by insiders who are major leaguers..."
Certainly you're not referring to the crack (or is that crack-pot) team at the state party as "major leaguers?!" "Insiders" I would agree with, but big fish in small ponds are not "major leaguers."
Nor could you be describing what passes for "Democratic" political consultancy in this state as "being turbocharged," given that virtually all "Democratic" political consultants in Nevada would gleefuly sell their naked bodies on the strip if they thought they could make a quick buck doing so. Gary Gray is the only major, Democratic (notice, no quotes), political consultant in Nevada who doesn't take on Republican clients. I suspect there may be a few smaller consultants out there who have some spine as well.
Now if you mean the folks who actually know Nevada voters, such as Kate Marshall, Catherine Cortez-Masto, Ross Miller, and Kim Wallin, and understand how to get them to the polls, then OK, we've got "major leaguers!"
If you mean unions like AFSCME, SEIU, and most of the building trades unions, who actually know how to organize, then OK, we've got "turbocharged!"
It's my party and I'll LIE if I want to...
I had the chance to read yesterday's flash about Rebecca Lambe (don't worry Jon, it wasn't forwarded to me, I just was able to read it off of a subscriber's PDA). You described her as Nevada's best political brain. Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble (and hers), but she was out-thought by one Erin Bilbray, despite the cheating and lying (not to mention what must be 10's of thousands of dollars of Culinary members' dues) that went on by Rebecca and her lackies at the state party and the lame political "leadership" of the Culinary union (aka Pilar). I guess that's why Rebecca gets called "the best in Nevada" by you, but Erin gets called "the best and the brightest" in the whole country by US News and World Report.
Rebecca is a second rate hack, who couldn't organize her way out of a paper bag, let alone win an election. Don't forget that her husband is a paid Republican operative.
Call me a "crazie" or a "loonie" if you want, but activists win elections. Having watched you and read you for years, I KNOW you know better.

Dear billm,
I am no fan of the NSDP "professional" staff, as any who have read my responses to various political blogs around the state could tell you. Nor am I quick to defend Mr. Ralston. But SERIOUSLY! This is called parody, you dunder-head! Just in case you missed the point, there was no meeting, and there was no "secret taping!" DUH!!
It is IMAGINARY!
Boy, oh boy, Republics are dumber than I thought.
