It takes 60 votes for any amendment. This bill is a done deal and harry Reid has ushered in a real step toward a socialist society. It wouldn't be so bad if they would just be honest and state their goals and reasons. It's all the lying that destroys all credibility for those pressing this.
Obama did it the old fashioned way. He ran for President while being paid to be a Senator even though he never went to work while he campaigned. I like the entrepreneur model over the welfare model.
Great plan. 10 years of taxes and 5 years of expenses and the plan comes in on cost. harry could have run General Motors with this kind of accounting.

Finally. Fraud and abuse will be eliminated. Why didn't someone thing of issue an order for fraud to disappear before.
This is brilliant. When the President that brought us ACORN and the Stimulus plan issues an order for fraud to go away I am sure it will. Let's put Joe in charge of enforcing it.
Public hospital, public employees. Now lets put all your medical records on a government data base where they will be safe.
The problem with government programs is they are still run by people. Having the government in charge actually lowers the safety of the program as protected employees can't be fired with government regulations.
If City Center is going to have such a great impact on the city lets build another one. Borrow and spend makes everything better.
Maybe the Treasury could put up the money and give it to the UAW?

The current bill increases insurance costs and health care delivery costs. The only rational assumption is the authors plan for the system to collapse and be replace with government health care. Any other assumption makes the Senator more stupid than anyone can believe.
