This whole issue related to addiction to pain medications, and the resulting anger at the Doc... DOES only ONE thing and that is to give a very BAD name to ethical Docs, and patients that REALLY need the medication. This patient was taking WAY too much obviously.... BUT the health care individuals that ARE trying to do the right thing, and that is to control a patients pain, are the ones suffering now. Pain control throughout our nation is pathetic. Is it fixable,,,,, NO because of our current pathetic health care system..
