Well actually it is possible that domestic violence cases could fall next year without changing the definition. It does happen - the rate of violent crimes per 100,000 people have been decreasing in this country since the early 90s. Check it out. Google UCR, the uniform crime reports compiled by the FBI. Look at the numbers yourself, instead of having sweeping generalizations spoonfed to you NPR style.
"Homicide detectives said the woman had been outside her home with family, celebrating her employment anniversary when a single gunshot was heard" - and yet no one saw who fired the gun. Surrounded by people and no witness. Something's fishy about that scenario.
I guess the gloves fit this time!

No McCain will take this state. There are too many retired conservative voters here for Obama to win it.
I was going to point out the same thing. Everyone in this country is presumed innocent until proven guilty. So he is pleading not guilty in the hopes of being found innocent at trial.
A pretty glaring gaff for the copy editor to make.
Is her platform really so thin that she has to make such a big deal about how she says "y'all"?
I agree let em all rot. I'm fine with my current ride and I'll drive it into the ground, I always feel like I'm being ripped off by those car salesmen jerks, esp for the american dealerships, so not sad to see them go bankrupt. They deserved it after selling crap cars no one wants for years. The writing was on the wall.
Glad that kid is getting some help, but $8k will probably only cover an hour's worth of hospital bills at today's inflated medical rates.

I think the real question here is: "Why build a replica of a stuffy Manhattan hotel on the Las Vegas Strip?" It doesn't suit the locale or the climate, I don't get it.
