Very comprehensive article, answers a lot of questions I've been wondering about East Fremont every time I go down there. Three more questions an informed individual such as the writer might be able to answer:
1. What the heck happened with the Lady Luck hotel casino?
2. Why no ice cream shop in one of those small storefronts down there?
3. I think a lot of people are afraid of the bums, cutthroats and miscreants who pour out onto Fremont Street from the Western casino dump. Is there anything that Metro could do to come down hard on that place? It's a beacon for undesireables that scares away paying customers.
Yeah I sorta have to agree. If it costs $80 to fill up your truck to go lose $100 at a casino, why not just stay home and watch a DVD? Or play Xbox with your kid? That's a better game than a slot machine any day and you don't lose every time you play it.
Somebody remind me what the point of nascar is again - to see who can go round and round in circles and use up fossil fuels most quickly? Something like that?
It is a good idea and it will help make the final table more interesting. The problem currently is that by the time you get to the final table, there's already been a month of intense poker action in all of the various smaller events and people are "over stimulated" with poker. The final table gets swept up into the deluge.
This way there will be time to think about the final 9 and the way they play, not the cutthroat elimination process that immediately preceded it.
Poker has jumped the shark but this will at least make the main event more interesting.
